Freddie Mercury, born Farrokh Bulsara, was a British singer, songwriter, and musician who rose to rock superstardom as the flamboyant frontman of the band Queen. Born in Zanzibar to Parsi parents in 1946, Mercury’s family moved to India when he was 8, where he discovered his love for music and began piano lessons. At 17, he returned to England with his family and studied graphic design, but music remained his true passion.

In 1970, he joined forces with guitarist Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor, and bassist John Deacon to form Queen, embarking on a musical journey that would redefine rock.

Mercury possessed a staggering four-octave vocal range, effortlessly transitioning from operatic highs to soulful lows. His live performances were legendary, infused with theatricality, improvisation, and infectious energy that captivated audiences worldwide. He donned flamboyant costumes, interacted with the crowd, and commanded the stage like a modern-day rock deity.
