Late Jayant Madhvani

Jayant Muljibhai Madhvani was the Chairman and Managing Director of the Madhvani Group, one of East Africa’s largest conglomerates. Born in 1922 in Jinja, Uganda, he was the eldest son of the Group’s founder, Muljibhai Madhvani. After his father’s death in 1958, Jayant took over the leadership of the company and played a key role in expanding and diversifying its operations across industries such as sugar, steel, textiles, and hospitality. Known for his visionary leadership and strong commitment to employee welfare, Jayant left a lasting legacy in Uganda’s industrial development before his untimely death in 1971.
